Solution:
Here was the problem. don't use a name in the incoming pop and smtp servers... use the IP address.
It hit me in the face when i asked for the config .... stupid ID10T error.

Hmm....  The Windows 2000 and and Outlook 2000 (SP3) combination shouldn't
be a problem I don't think - maybe the others are onto something about the
lock file / pop file.  They seem to know more about that, so I'll leave it
up to them....

I am running a modified Raq 3 - i.e. - refalsed OS to 550, and running 1gb
ram on 2 80 GB harddrives

You talked about a lock file / pop file.... where would I look for something
like that.

They are running Windows 2000, with Outlook 2000 (SP3)
