I've always believed that for hosting companies to have reverse DNS
pointed to anyone else but their own hostname, is the kiss of death;
clients and would-be clients will eventually notice the hosting is
being done on what they perceive of as a consumer-grade connection.

I'd have to say _never_ use a connection for hosting where you can't get
the reverse DNS to point to you.

But even resolving that problem with reverse DNS, I think the problem of
outgoing email being blocked won't be resolved; every blocklist I know
of except one works not by who the reverse DNS resolves to, but rather
the specific IP# and what block of IP#s it's in the middle of. If an
IP# is in the middle of a block of IP#s that's marked as belonging to
home-use DSL customers, you're going to get blocked.
