[cobalt-users] DNS question

i set up some sun-domains for a client. he has the main domain hosted on
another server but he wanted me to set up 2 sub domains on my box (Raq4).
this i did and i added an A record for each sub domain via the control
panel.

however, my RaQ is now pretending to be authoritative for the whole domain
and he can't send test emails from either of the sub domains to the main
domain.

is there any way i can get round this? i don't really want to add all his
DNS from the main domain onto my box. can i get my box to grab the
information for just that domain from his box? doesn't look like i can do
this via the control panel. if i do it via a shell direct on the box, will
my changes get overwritten when i use the GUI?
