Maybe I've misread this and will be teaching Granny to suck eggs.

I would think the best thing would be to get phpMyAdmin and install that.
You can then create databases, tables, add users and all sorts.  It takes
some playing with to get the hang of it all but it's a damn site easier than
trying to use the CLI.
