Have you tried turning off the 15 minute heartbeat to see if that stops 
it?

IIrc, you just run

# crontab -e root

and comment out the line.

If that doesn't stop the rebooting, then after the system reboots, be 
sure to log in and uncomment the line the same way later.

But if that does stop the rebooting, then something it's doing is 
causing a reboot.

It's beginning to sound as if you may have been hacked (rebooting every 
five minutes is a DOS if I ever heard of one).

Have you installed and run the latest chkrootkit?
