Someone has been trying to send emails with large attachments to a
customer on my Raq4. The first one with a 2mb attachment got through
but the rest were rejected. She said:
"Here's one of the failure messages although I'm pretty certain that
the files are far too big to send outside BT.
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
user@xxxxxxxxxxxxx on 11/02/2004 14:58 This message is larger than the
current system limit or the recipient's mailbox is full. Create a
shorter message body or remove attachments and try sending it again.
<i2kc05-ukbr.domain1.systemhost.net #5.2.3 smtp;450 5.2.3 Msg Size
greater than allowed by Remote Host>"
1. Maximum message size was set on the Raq4 to 7mb - I've now
increased it to 10mb.
2. The customer has 20mb allocated out of 50mb for the domain. I
presume this allows him to accumulate 20mb of emails.
3. The customer checks his mail every 10/15 minutes.
3. I know BT do have restrictions on message size.
Given the above, have I done enough to ensure that my customer can
receive most emails with attachments? And, if so, do I put it down to
BT's restrictions on email size?
Thanks
Regards
Jackie
