[cobalt-users] Multiple language support in Apache 1.3.6 on Cobalt

We are using a RAQ3 running Apache 1.3.6. We are trying to get multiple
language support working properly through the web. We would like it to be
transparent where the user's browser indicates it's language preference and
the Apache server selects the correct file for that language. From my
research, it appears that there is support for this in Apache using
mod_negotiation and mod_mime and then just setting up "companion" pages for
each HTML file (e.g. index.html, index.html.fr, index.html.de, etc.).
The Apache documentation says that mod_mime and mod_negotiation are both
built-in by default in Apache 1.3.4 and later. However, doing the above
technique on our RAQ3 does not work... and a report on the Apache version
shows only mod_perl and mod_ssl built-in. Do we need to go in and rebuild
the entire Apache server? I was hoping there was an easier way.
If anyone has experience with setting up something like this, I would
appreciate any insight on the easiest way to set this up.
