You can remove the drive from the RaQ, install it temporarily into
another Red Hat Linux system, and fix the file, or reinstall the
original one, at least temporarily.
Sounds drastic, I know, but it preserves the entire contents of your
RaQ, whereas the restore CD deletes everything.
Read and buy a good linux or unix administration book. For years the
only method there was of adding/deleting/modifying users to change the
/etc/passwd file by hand; it's not hard.
