This is the right way to fix it...

You probably never edited the alias in the GUI after adding them, i have
found that modifying the alias list on the raq2 sometimes drops the domain 
name off the user names...

There's a rule in sendmail.cf to map joe@xxxxxxxxxxxxx to
joe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, which is fine except the MX record tells sendmail
to convert www.somewhere.com back to somewhere.com, thus the
endless loop...

having an explicit domain name in the alias or a different MX record seems
to let sendmail skip this rule...
