I gather from the "subject" that you leave email on the server ... doing
this with POP is not a very good idea. As you have found, the client will
eventually stop accessing the mail ... I'd suggest its timing out before the
server can find the "delta" between read mail and new messages.
I'd recommend that you migrate to IMAP clients (e.g. back to OutLook
Express) and get your users to create additional IMAP folder to store email
on the server. Users should maintain VERY lean inboxes else performance
WILL suffer.
