[cobalt-users] Total Newbie, please be patient...

Hi all,

Just bought a RaQ3i and unpacked it.  I have a cablemodem and was running PWS okay on it.  When I set it up in the internal network, with the 1st ethernet port, I can connect to the main page and configure the server, etc, no problem.  When I put in the cablemodem IP address in the primary IP,  subnet mask and gateway in, I could not access the RaQ3i anymore.  I tried the secondary ethernet port, no luck, then I tried hooking up both the internal and external network and had no luck at all.

I'm not a total networking dummy, but this freaks me out, for an applicance that is supposed to work out of the box in 15mins.

My questions are, 1) is there any difference between the two ethernet ports on the RaQ3i, and if so, what?  There is no documentation on it, 2) are there any special considerations with the cablemodem (no, its not DHCP, I have a static IP),  and 3) are there any consultants in the Toronto area familiar with the RaQ3i who want to make a few bucks helping me get this thing up and running???

Thanks folks,

Jay
