Shouldn't. New subdomains should cause a new lookup instantly. They
always have for me. Of course I just make a living doing DNS consulting
and running commercial DNS servers; what do I know <wry grin>.

Nah. I had one slackware linux box (linux kernel v0.99) run for a bit
over two years as I recall. We took it out of service in 1997, I used
it as a desktop system running Win95 for almost two years. We had to
reboot it daily. Now it's back in service as a nameserver again
<smile>.
