there are very rare cases where a Linux system has to be restarted. For 
example for switching to a new kernel. Certainly not to activate new DNS 
entries. Just restart the named:

# /etc/rc.d/init.d/named restart

That should work ? but of course it needs a while until your new entry is 
known in the world! But a reboot of your box does not help for that 
problem.

If the reboot is necessary because of a bug in the raq2 administration 
software, I might be wrong. I have a raq3 and we never rebootet it for 
this purpose.
