Re: [cobalt-users] [RAQ2] OpenSSL

Dennis,

To use the OpenSSL/mod_ssl variation of a secure Apache Web server will
require you to compile these modules into the Apache source, then build
Apache. This is most likely unsupported by Cobalt and may void your
warranty. If a warranty is important, check with Cobalt first.

I believe that the RH SWS is also built against OpenSSL. On my RH 6.1 Prof.
Intel box, the openssl binary already existed before I built the custom
Apache server. I was able to build/install an OpenSSL/mod_ssl enabled
Apache (v1.3.12) and have the capability to freely switch between RH SWS and
the custom secure Apache Web server.

If you do this, you should note that following the instructions included
with the modules will end you up with two openssl binaries if you do not
remove RH SWS first.
