When you telnet into your Cobalt server, the server does a lookup to find
the hostname which is associated with the IP address (DNS reverse lookup
query) from which you connected.  The (Cobalt) server waits until it gets a
response or until the query timeout.  You only see your telnet login prompt
after that.
