The RaQ1 I have only has 32Mb of RAM. While I had the option of upgrading the
box by adding more memory, I had problems with my applications. It was
working fine until we started to add more machines and consequentially more
dns calls. By going over the logs of the applications we saw there were
timeouts pertaining to dns. The problem went away when we decided to use ip
addresses instead of dns for some of our operations. I guess I should have
been more clear when I said it was not "robust enough".
Since I do not want to toss out the RaQ1, I will use it for my email. I have
used the RaQs for email in the past without any problems so I do not foresee
anything crazy happening with that plan. As for the second RaQ1, I have
already set them up with an rsync so that in the event the primary one dies,
the second one can be brought up with the "identity" of the first one. It
beats running around changing the settings of all of the machines

I am currently running primary on one machine and I have secondary dns on the
other RaQ1. You are correct with your assessment Jeff. My goal is to offload
my DNS from both Raq1's to the RaQ3's.
