Reading and absorbing here...
at what level is a site considered high traffic?? I've been having memory
problems and the httpd locked up 3 times in 3 days..
Logs (pulled off the shared servers) from some of the busier sites I
manage from Jan 2000 look like this:
(live on Cobalt) Total data transferred: 13 176 Mbytes (2 799 Mbytes)
(live on Cobalt) Total data transferred 1 054 Mbytes (236 334 kbytes)
(live on Cobalt) Total data transferred: 834 019 kbytes (264 366 kbytes)
(move in April) Total data transferred:</b> 944 645 kbytes (223 383 kbytes)
(move in March) Total data transferred: 132 097 kbytes (32 867 kbytes)
(move in March) Total data transferred: 110 206 kbytes (26 825 kbytes)
Also.. while watching top to monitor the memory usage I saw this:
26802 admin 14 0 0 0 0 Z 0 1.5 0.0 0:00
livecntr.cgi <defunct>
It dissapeared quite quickly from top.. and Charlie at Interliant has never
seen this before. I searched everywhere this AM looking for some answers..
but found nothing..
