I can confirm that domain names (long ones that is) have very little if
anything to do with the major search engines. Short and obvious ones for a
specific product (group) or service are more successful due to people just
typing the word into their browser location bar and hitting enter.
Even metatags have very little to do with the search engines now days. Most
of them use their own search algorithms to match up actual content
instead--easier to be consistent and accurate this way.
And 'priority' or ranking (in spider search engines) is almost always based
upon the number of sites linking to you.
