Hey there Ian!
I finally decided to change servers and went with this dedicated RaQ3.
Hopefully I won't have any problems! :)
Do you use another stats program on your RaQ3?
And how is the webdata form working out for you? I am going to be changing
mine out to use asp as soon as I can get Chilisoft installed and running.
Sincerely
Robyn LeGris

When I install the DNS module for Webalyzer I get an error that says, cannot
verify pkg component. I assumed it was not compatible with the RaQ3.
Thanks

installing it?

You may need to add PHP as a module, but it will work.

SSL will work, and securely, on all sites. But the certificate can only
work "all warm and fuzzy" and with no errors with one domain, as listed on
the cert.

Your cert will work fine, just be sure to move the key as well.

Nothing to configure. I right click on a file in CuteFTP and choose "Change
File Attributes" and type in, e.g., 755 and bingo, it's now CHMOD 755.
You should have uploaded the file as the site admin and be logged in via FTP
as that site admin. Not the admin for the server.

I don't think there is an easy way. Cobalt had promised software for this,
but so far, nothing.

rpm -e postgresql might do it :)

Shouldn't, both php and ssl run as modules in Apache 1.3.x -- forget the
minor version number of apache shipped on the RaQ2. You might want to
verify the httpsd.conf files though to see if it's loading the modules.
Hint: You are not buying something completely new when you purchase
the Secure Server from Cobalt (or even RedHat) -- it's still Apache
and mod_ssl, what you are buying primarily however is first the
commercial license for SSL from RSA -- see the docs on mod_ssl, you
can download and compile it -- but can only use it with the general
license if it is not for commercial use. The second thing you're buying
is the packaging -- where it comes in binary forms with all appropriate
binaries and an almost ready to go config file.

Umm, actually SSL should work on the virtual host -- however you set it
up in httpsd.conf -- since the RaQ2's interface doesn't interact with
this file -- you just need to go edit here. The default httpsd.conf
files that comes with the secure server are setup for a single site
however.

I'm using a RaQ w/ a VeriSign cert and a RaQ2 with a Thawte cert.
Thawte certs are cheaper, for this year at least. VeriSign certs
should work -- they use the same technology.
I'm not sure about moving the certificate, I tend to doubt it -- but
in the case it would work -- you need to use gather both the key
and certificate file to move to the new site where you edit your
httpsd.conf to point to the appropriate files inside the VirtualHost
stanzas of the config file.

Heres some great instuctions i got from a fellow raq owner in the same boat
as you and me. The only problem i had, was i accidently moved over the
passwd file and almost lost all the 200 sites i moved onto the raq3, 2 weeks
worth of work, greatfull i had a backup copy of it :)
1. Make a table of domain names<->site numbers on the RaQ2 (on a piece of
paper)
2. Create the sites on the RaQ3 in exactly the same order that they appear
on the RaQ2 (i.e. the domain has the same site number) through the UI
3. Create all the users for all sites with identical settings through the UI
4. For each sitex, tar&zip up the /home/sitex/ directory structure
5. FTP the zip file to the RaQ3
6. unzip&tar the file to the same location
7. Copy the encrypted password from the RaQ2 shadow file to the RaQ3 one
8. Test the site by entering the new IP for the moved domain in your Windows
HOSTS file
9. Move the DNS entry from the RaQ2 to the RaQ3
NOTE: There is obviously an issue with Frontpage sites as the underlying
architecture is different and you cannot simply copy the site. To move a
Frontpage site, do the following:
1. When creating the duplicate site in the RaQ3 do NOT enable it as a
Frontpage site.
2. Follow steps 3. to 7. as above
3. Once copied, THEN enable Frontpage extensions on the new site and it will
overwrite the MIPS binaries in the site web with the x86 ones
This procedure worked fine for us and we encountered no problems.
Regards
Gary
