This statement shows a complete misunderstanding of copyright law.
FYI there is no such thing as "public domain" (unless the author of the work
expressly defines his work as such).
The copyright lasts 50 years after the death of the author. I believe this
has now been pushed to 75years as they recently changed the law in the US to
match that of Europe.
