Some this have monthly (or weekly) FaQ postings to the list to help curb
some of that.  Others have pages devoted to documentation to answer
common questions.  This is a fairly high traffic site, it just might be time
for people on this work together do something like this.

I'm only looking at this from the point of view of the support provider. I'm already as thin as I can get. I love helping out on lists, because I can do it in a time-frame I set.

I wouldn't want to ever have to keep up with an IRC channel.
