Hi,

I am really not sure if you are the right one to ask for help on cron-job 
or not.  In case you are, here is my question.

I am currently assigned to write a script that will check on the status 
of our server at least once within 24  hours; however, it got no idea 
what it is since this kind of subject is totally new for me and I have 
never got a chance to expose on this kind of matter. Hence I am writing 
this mail to ask you if you could give me some guidance to get it started.
