[cobalt-users] Server Monitoring

Hello
I have had a number of enquiries from people as to how reliable the hardware
I use for hosting sites is. The reason I am telling you this is, because, my
ISP has informed me that they are on about 99.6% reliability. However, in
relation to my machine they have no idea as the I am not part of their
hosting package which includes server monitoring. I therefore can not
confirm whether I too have 99.6% network uptime and to whether there has
been any downtime with my server.
Can anyone help and suggest a network monitoring system that can watch my
server and report, preferably by email, when downtime occurs, and at what
point. I.E. If the network problem is because my ISP's routers have gone
down or the problem lie elsewhere on the network that connects to the ISP?
Should I have to confront my ISP with server downtime as a result of their
network I could show them the results of the program, data.
Thanks
