[cobalt-users] (Raq3) access log and Analog

I'm not crazy about using the Server Manage Site Usage. IMO
it's somewhat limited in the details and a bit of pain,
(other than being an older version - Analog 3.11) so I'm
trying to use Analog 4.02 to give me a better scoop on
things.
Not sure if I'm doing this correctly but I'd like to run
Analog on the main "access" log file
(home/log/httpd/access). I had originally setup Analog with
no problem to read and report on all web.log files for each
individual virtual site, but when I setup a .cfg file for
the access log I'm getting LOGFORMAT errors out the butt,
plus analog is complaining that there are over 3000+ bad
lines, and then dies gracefully.
I looked at the format in the httpd.conf but that didn't
help, plus I assumed that format was for the web.log file
-- correct??
Even did a tail on the last 10 lines a few time to see what
format all the stuff was being use in access, but that
didn't solve problem the logformat errors either, while
using:
LOGFORMAT (%v %S %u %j [date codes...yada-yada-yada...)
I spent literally hours last night on this thing and am
almost ready to throw in the towel. Can anyone thow me a
bone on what exactly the logformat is for the access
log...or is stuff being logged in various logformats??
Or is there possibly a better way to get a quicky stats on
all of the vsites at once while using Analog 4.02?
I really don't want to add new vsites' web.log's to the main
cfg file cause using the access log has everything there
that I need in one tidy file...plus the most current log
entires. As far as I can figure out, web.log is created
nightly, so it's not reflecting the most current visitor
traffic, correct?
Liz
