As a newbie I've been struggling with the following question:

How does one host multiple web sites that require SSLs on one box with one
IP address? Is this possible or do you have one SSL for the whole box which
allows all of the sites Secured connections?

The only way I know to do this is to buy your own site certificate, say for <secure.yourname.com>, and let your clients use it as, for example, <secure.yourname.com/customer1> and <secure.yourname.com/customer2>, etc.

Both Thawte and Verisign will tell you this is in violation of their license. However many big hosting companies do it this way.

Every individual site certificate requires its own IP#.
