Same here. Also, however, thanks for explaining what the problem was.
I am thinking, not too hard though, of writing a perl script to check the
configuration of a machine; for example, it could have a list of files and
what their permissions should be; another list of files that should be
present, etc.
Is there such a thing now? It would be simple enough to do, but it would
only be as good as the list of problems we know in advance might come up.
If some of you have suggestions of what to check, I'd love to hear them.
