RE: [cobalt-users] initial site web pages

Title: RE: [cobalt-users] initial site web pages

To answer the first question, no, its fine to have that as a site. I have many customers that do the same thing and I have never seen a problem with it.

Second, try uninstalling and reinstalling FP extensions for the site. This some time fixes the problem. If not install the Upgrade patch, this also has some times fixed FP issues. If this doesn't work give me the error message that it is giving and I'll see what I can fix.

Subject: RE: [cobalt-users] initial site web pages

i have a question - and once again my newbiness is going to shine through
due to the question..

when i got my Raq and configured it, i gave the machine a hostname of "www"
just like the help context states. i also am using that "virtual site" as my
main web page.

is there anything wrong with doing either of those things? it seems like i
have picked up that most people "name" their machine something like
"machine1.domain.com" rather than "www.domain.com" and i was just wondering
if there was some reason for it.

for some reason frontpage cannot access my main virtual site either - i am
having to do everything through FTP after editing it locally.. the actual
directory where the root site html is kept is VERY different than any of the
virtual sites i have created.

sorry if i am way off the mark with my questions.. im just a fledging little
provider who is learning his way around a new o/s.

mark
