We got a Cobalt Raq3 on Thursday last week for evaluation and development. A
developer ran a script that did an useradd using the Linux version and we
have not been able to telnet in since then. (Gives a no shell/permission
denied) I believe something must have corrupted the /etc/passwd file.
Attempts to connect using the Console serial port have not worked either.
The web server appears to be running but nothing seems to work, (no status,
no users, unable to add virtual hosts, the virtual host we had set up does
not appear) except change password. There is no backup for this machine
available. Numerous attempts at phoning Tech support and leaving voice
messages have not been returned and the web page online email page does not
appear to work. (after hitting submit button, screen just refreshes although
all boxes were filled in, no automatic reply saying the message was
received). Do we have to send this box back or is there a way to reset the
factory defaults from the front panel? I have been unable to find anything
on this in the knowledge database except if you can telnet in, which we
can't.
