I have been having trouble with a self signed certificate in that when I
enable SSL for the admin server, I no longer can see the content in the
admin web pages; the frames on the top and the left appear, but the user
list, for instance, never shows up.
It is a browser problem, however, and not a server problem. I use Netscape
4.7 on a Macintosh (128 bit encryption) normally (which has this problem)
and if I use Internet Explorer 5.0 on a Windows machine (with 40 bit
encryption), everything works fine. That's as far as I have debugged the
trouble, but you might try a different browser, on a different machine.
You may at least be able to get in to turn off SSL...
