RE: [cobalt-users] slow telnet response...

you have to edit the hosts file and add the workstation you are
connecting from.

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx workstation.name

Subject: [cobalt-users] slow telnet response...

Recently (this morning only) I've been finding telnet takes a long time
to
respond...

I get a connecting message, and then it's about a minute before I get
the
logon message.

This is not a network issue; I use telnet internally only.

It's not a load issue; the uptime shows:
   9:56am up 34 days, 11:02, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

The RaQ2 seems to have no other problems; it's 13 Gigs of hard drive,
and
128 megabytes of memory.

Top is showing:
     9:59am up 34 days, 11:05, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
   48 processes: 47 sleeping, 1 running, 0 zombie, 0 stopped
CPU states: 0.3% user, 3.6% system, 0.0% nice, 96.0% idle
   Mem: 127744K av, 99444K used, 28300K free, 40776K shrd, 58208K
buff
   Swap: 130748K av, 28K used, 130720K free 22028K
cached

I really don't want to reboot; 34 days is NOT a lot of time.

Anyone else seen this?

Any ideas?

Jeff
