[cobalt-users] Cable Modem and a Qube :-)

I'm trying to use my
@home cable modem to hook into my Qube 2 so I can let my tower and my laptop
hook up to the net. I downloaded the info on how to set up the Qube 2 with
DSL so I figured it can't be that different. I have all the info I need
like DNS servers, gateways and the IP that the DHCP on the @home end gives to me
no matter what computer I hook up to it. I have everything configured right and
this is what I have found:
I cannot ping anything
on the @home network from the Qube network when the secondary card has the IP
that I get from the servers on the @home side. I'm not running DHCP on the
secondary card. I got all the info though DOS prompts and I know when the
lease expires. I tried putting one of my computers through the secondary card
and giving it an Ip close to the one on the secondary card. After doing
that, this is what I found. From the computer that I set up to be a mock
@home computer, I can ping the Qube's secondary card but not the primary
one. I can't get through to any computers on the Qube's side.
BUT...I can get from a computer on the Qube side to my "mock" @home
computer. Furthermore, I can get to both cards on the Qube from my
computer on the Qube side.
It looks like to me that the packets know how to get out but they can't get
back. Any ideas?
BTW: My
network looks like this.... the cable modem goes into the secondary Ethernet
card on the Qube. From the primary card on the Qube, I have a 3com Office
connect 16 port 10Mbs hub. From the hub I have two win 98 computers, (about to
be Linux boxes :-) ).
Thanks...
