[cobalt-users] RaQ 3 LED Issue

Dear valued RaQ 3 Customer,

Cobalt Networks has recently become aware of a potential issue with some
RaQ 3 units with a single Ethernet connector. The RaQ 3i with dual
Ethernet connectors is NOT affected.

The units affected will have the following marketing part numbers:

R39 384 HIU, R39 384 HIE, R39 384 HIK, R39 384 HIJ
R39 684 HIU, R39 684 HIE, R39 684 HIK, R39 684 HIJ
R39 CC0 HIU, R39 CC0 HIE, R39 CC0 HIK, R39 CC0 HIJ

and have the following range of serial numbers:

(a)	S/N 3XXXXM942XXXX through S/N 3XXXXM952XXXX or
(b)	S/N 3XXXXM001XXXX through S/N 3XXXXM002XXXX.

(where X is any alphanumeric character).

Problem Description: The RaQ 3 front panel LED Ethernet link connection
indicator (2nd light from the left, marked LINK) remains unlit.
Functionally, there is NO problem; the Ethernet connection is active, and
the corresponding LINK connection indicator on the back of the RaQ is
functioning correctly. As long as the LED is not required by the customer,
the server appliance is suitable for long-term deployment.
