RE: [cobalt-users] telnet access to users?

Which is why the default ftp server installation that comes with Red Hat Linux (not the RaQ) comes with a copy of ls, and other commands, in a dummy directory, in the anonymous ftp area.

But that's easily overcome either with a shell that already has those programs installed and doesn't need to call them externally (as in the ftp server installation included in the RaQs), or to have a dummy directory with the necessary files.

Now, however, we're talking about true virtual servers, which is well beyond the scope of this mailing list <smile>.

If you could truly limit people to /home/sites/site?/web/ then they would
not be able to do anything. Even simple commands like "ls" are outside that
directory and would become unavailable. Therefore all they would be able to
do is log in.
