[cobalt-users] POP3 Problem? - Lost Inbound Mail

Hello -

I am in the process of setting up a new RaQ3 to handle name-based virtual hosting and things are going quite well with a few exceptions.  Maybe one of the Cobalt experts on this list can help?!

I seem to be having a problem receiving inbound e-mail to any of the site accounts.   I have looked at everything I can think of, but am probably overlooking something very simple.  Here is a bit of info on my setup:

Acting as my own Primary DNS with ISP acting as secondary.  The following DNS records are setup:

A record for domainname.com -> IP Addr
A record for www.domainname.com -> IP Addr
A record for mail.domainname.com -> IP Addr
PTR record for IP Addr -> domainname.com
MX record for domainname.com -> mail.domainname.com

In the "Site Settings" screen, the "Accept Email for Domain" box is checked.
I have the "POP before SMTP" patch installed to allow limited relay for my POP clients.
I can send outbound messages (via SMTP) successfully once I have checked the POP mailbox.
The problem is that if someone (at another ISP like home.com or local ISP) tries to send an e-mail
to the same account, I get nothing.  No errors, no rejections, no messages on either end.

If I signon via telnet and send the message locally from one user to another via pine, everything works fine.
If I send the message directly via an SMTP server (on another network), everything works fine.
I have even received messages from networksolutions/internic with no problem. (Auto-responders)

My initial thought was DNS problems at the originating ISP (home.com, etc....), but I have done an nslookup
on all DNS servers involved, and they are all returning the correct information. (A, MX, etc...)

What am I missing?  TIA
