[cobalt-users] Subdomains

Hello. I apologize if I am bringing up a topic that has already been
discussed, but I am trying to setup subdomains on my RAQ3 and the
instructions that a previous user posted arent working.
Someone posted this:
>Just add a new host : Hostname: brianh Domain: bob.com
>And in the dns server just add the entry lets say: brianh.bob.com --> (a
>record) 195.12.12.12
I set up the A record in the DNS first, and then tried to setup the new
virtual host. The server
returned this error:
Another site is already aliased to the domain "mydomain.com" ,
and it wouldnt let me set up the new host. Can anyone tell me specifically
how I would go about settup up a subdomain via the GUI? Ultimately, I would
like to give the end user (my company is a hosting provider) the ability to
add a subdomain account on the fly, with its own ftp account and directory
etc. Does anyone know of a script/program that will allow me to do this
without affecting the Cobalt Administration GUI? OR, will anyone out there
write me a script to accomplish this?
;o)
Thanks, in advance!
Regards,
David Harris
