David,
I look after few Qubes on different sites (all small businesses) and have
given up using the built in backup facility. The Legato client is probably
ok for sites which already have Legato, but most small businesses don't.
I use Dantz <http://www.dantz.com/> Retrospect (for MacOS or Windows) to
backup the Appleshare volumes or SAMBA shares depending on what client
workstations the customer has. This does leave the rest of the Qube (i.e.
configuration) a little vulnerable, but at least the customers data is well
protected.
Dantz are working on a Linux Client (supposed to be out this quarter) ...
then I'll have a complete backup solution.
The nice bit is that the backup is in a format which can easily be restored
to a Mac or Windows workstation if access to data is required while the Qube
is being "repaired".
Cheers, Malcolm
