It depends on how you define "as soon".  Obviously every possible scenario 
won't occur immediately; I'd want to run the system at least a few days 
before leaving.

In theory.  I'd certainly want somone to check on it and at least know how 
to reboot the system if something goes wrong.

I've had systems up a year without a problem.  My one RaQ is too new to 
give you a better idea.

How critical is this system?
