Re: [cobalt-users] Problem with eMail



Hi Christian,

the problem is, that both machines probably think their in charge of mail for
the domain "bizzweb.de".

The email-Adress "info@xxxxxxxxxx" could be located on both servers, so sending
it on the one where you set up the user "info" works, sending it on the other
doesn't as the second server thinks he is in charge of mail, looks up the users
in his internal tables, can't find it and then gives the error-message "Unknown
User".

There are some possible work-arounds here:

1. Uncheck "Accept email for domain" on your "de2.*" machine, so it will no
longer be in charge for emails like *@bizzweb.de but only for *@de2.bizzweb.de.
*@bizzweb will be delivered externally to the server you specified with the
MX-Settings in the DNS-Management (maybe you use your providers DNS, then tell
him to set the MX-Record for bizzweb.de to your "www"-machine).

2. If you don't like this, as you need the second to recieve emails for the
domain, too, setup a user on the "de2" machine for "info@xxxxxxxxxx" and then
add a forwarder entry to the second machine, so you get all the mails on one
account. To be sure, the email is transportert externally, you can add a
forwardaddres like "info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx".
