Re: [cobalt-users] monitor already running

/usr/local/sbin/monitor is invoked every fifteen minutes by default from
/etc/crontab. On a heavily loaded server it may take monitor more than
fifteen minutes to complete its service tests. Thus a recently invoked
monitor process will refuse to run as the last invocation is still in
progress, while sending an ambiguous email to admin.
