The Qube 2 is a Intranet server, as far as I am concerned and think that if
you are using it to do virtual sites, you are probably beyond the scope of
the product.

That is a very true statement. I'd like to see more support for VARs to add
custom software. I am working on one that will use a SCSI card and tape
drive on a Qube2 that will allow you to back up the contents of the Qube to
the tape. After that is completed, I'll be trying to come up with an
interface that will let you back up the CLIENTS on the network as well. It
could be a really slick solution. The reseller I used to work for is
planning on selling this as a bundled solution. But it'd be really cool I
could just release a plug-in patch that works WITH the cobalt interface to
do this. It would just 'take over' from the backup feature.
Incidentally, If I were Cobalt, I'd be focusing on the Backup market right
now. Have you checked to see how much it costs for a Network Backup system.
Have you ever tried to get one to work? Talk about some margins and room
for improvement! Cobalt could OWN the small business archival market. Or
almost just as easily the entire small business archival market.
Veritas Backup Exec isn't that cool, and it is really expensive. They are
worse than Microsoft. Plus you need an NT server. Plus Windows NT. My
god, is it that hard to backup all the clients on the network?
