RE: [cobalt-users] Help with CNAME

The DNS Records for the domain I am pointing to follow the directions at
http://www.cobalt.com/support/wp.dns.html.
This information is below. Does anyone have any idea why Cobalt would say
not to use CNAMES and a couple of people on this list says it works for
them? I am still unable to point oncologics.net to oncologics.org.
Any other ideas? Also, Is it necessary for me to create a virtual site for
the .net domain that I want pointed to the .org domain?
-Ben
Here is the DNS information for each of the domains that I am working with.
1. DNS Settings for oncologics.org
(a record) oncologics.org - 208.180.48.50
(a record) mail.oncologics.org -208.180.48.50
(a record) www.oncologics.org - 208.180.48.50
(ptr record, created automatically w/ reverse lookup checked off)
208.180.48.50/24 - oncologics.org
(mx record) oncologics.org - mail is sent to the High priority mail server -
mail.oncologics.org
2. DNS Settings for oncologics.net (This is the one I'm trying to point to
oncologics.org
(CNAME Record) www.oncologics.net - www.oncologics.org

What else is in the DNS records for that domain? If the CNAME is the only
thing there, it should work.
Also, what is in the DNS records for the domain you're pointing to. Does it
follow the info at
http://www.cobalt.com/support/wp.dns.html
