Re: [cobalt-users] Sendmail problem (BIG problem)

We're having the same problem with similar setup. Raq 2 with 140 domains. This started to happen after we were forced to migrate 40 or so domains from one raq to this one. When one of the sites stops accepting email we go into the site settings for the site, unchecked the accept email option then reapply it. We then restart the mail server through control panel as it now appears that it the previous step kills sendmail but does not restart it. This fixes the domain but then others start to have a problem. I am by no means a UNIX guru but while researching the problem noticed that the aliases.db file is now and remains to be 16384 bytes or exactly 16k. If we add forwarding information to an email account or add text to the vacation reply the aliases file gets larger but the aliases.db file remains the same. I don't know if the db file is related to the aliases as they seem to come from the virtusertable but that it was worth mentioning. It makes me wonder if the 75 site code limit from the Raq 1 is effecting the Raq 2 in regards to email.

Hello !

First of all, sorry for my english but I need help.

Here is the sitution:

RaQ 2, 120 domains, sendmail 8.9.3. C7 (now I'm back on C5), POP before SMTP

- Yesterday, on 5 domains all aliases and mailinglist has died. Sending mail results with Unknown user error despite e-mail aliases and mailing lists exists in User Management window (/siteadmin).
- MX records has not been changed.
- sending mail to <alias>@www.DOMAIN works fine
- I noticed that when I add new alias sendmail sometimes doesn't rebuild aliases (/var/log/maillog) - In Control Panel - Email parameters in Receive field is missing some of domain names without www. prefix (www.052.com is there, but 052.com isn't). All domains have checked mark for receive mail. All domains (with www. and without www.) are listed in sendmail.cw
- There is no logical connection between afected domains.

Any help or advice is more then appriciate.
