[cobalt-users] RaQ1 to RaQ2 upgrade
Folks,
Got my RaQ1 to RaQ2 upgrade CD. Since it wipes the drive, I need to tar my
sites up before I do this. Not sure if the FrontPage extensions keep all
the site-related files in the "sites" directory or not (does anyone else?),
but it looks like I can do the following to prep for the upgrade:
1.) Go to the home/sites directory
2.) Do a "tar cvzpf mySites.tar *" to archive all the sites. Copy the tar
ball off to
another machine.
3.) Do the upgrade.
4.) Manually recreate the sites using the RaQ2 browser interface.
5.) Manually recreate all of the user accounts using the RaQ2 browser
interface (whew! - is
there a better way???)
6.) Move the tar ball back to the new "sites" directory, whereever it is in
the new RaQ2
directory structure.
7.) Unpack the sites with "tar -xvzpf mySites.tar"
8.) Install the latest RaQ2 system updates since the CD was burned.
If any of you have done this before, does this process sound reasonable?
Any clever shortcuts to spare the manual user account recreation?
Thanks,
