RE: [cobalt-developers] Simple DNS Question

You will need to change all sites in the ui to the same ip and also change
the dns to reflect the new ip. As long as your mail clients are using a
hostname (i.e. mail.something.com) to connect to the mail server and not the
ip you should not have any problems. The downside to virtual hosting is that
individual site can not be accessed via the ip. You can however add an
aliased sub-domain (maybe cilent1.domain.com) to a virtual site so it's
viewable in the same fashion as the ip.

Chris

Subject: [cobalt-developers] Simple DNS Question

I am switching a Raq4 to virtual hosting. Right now we are using an
individual IP for each site. What do I need to do to set this up. I assume
I will have to go thur all site setups and change the IP address there. How
do I setup DNS? IS there anything else I need to do? How does this effect
my mnail settings? Does this also mean that I will not be able to access
individual sites by IP?

Thanks
Anthony
