I'm trying to get a 300 GB Maxtor HD working in a Qube 3. The HD has already been lowlevel formated (which took some days). The kernel freezes in the boot process when it is trying to detect the partitions on the drive (please see below screenshot). The system has cmos romrev 2.9.36 and the kernel is 2.4.19C7_III.
Why do you think the message is an error message, looks just like a report to me ...
When it *appears* to freeze, is there any hard drive activity? How long did you let it sit *frozen*?When I put new 30gig drives in my RAQ3 for the 1st time, I thought it was frozen, I think it was more like an fsck or something just taking a long time on brand new very large drives.
Did you only let it sit for 2 minutes, or 2 hrs, I'd be sure to give it a LONG time before you decide it is frozen.
