Wait a second. So the 3rd party PHP you have installed was indeed deliverd a 
PKG file. From the numbering it appears to be a PKGmaster.com package file.

To bring your Apache up and running into the same state as it was before you 
should grab the PHP-4.1.2-3.pkg from this URL and install it:

	http://pkgmaster.com/packages/raq/4/
	
	Direct link to the PKG:
	http://pkgmaster.com/i386/RaQ4-PHP-4.1.2-3.pkg

In order to get a newer PHP you can either order the installation service from 
one of the various Sun Cobalt cunsultants which offer this kind of service, 
or you can of course build a newer PHP on your own from the sources. That's 
up to you.
