I had thought this as well, but I recently updated some of the kernels on my
RedHat 7.x servers and the update went to a 2.4.20 from the stock 2.4.12 (I
think) and 2.4.18. I was pleased, don't get me wrong, but surprised to see
that it jumped up a version.
