Do you mean a majordomo list running on your RaQ?
Majordomo doens't do any conversions at all. It just inputs and
outputs, and it does it at the byte level. But sendmail can convert
between various font encoding schemes.
My guess is some kind of font encoding incompatibility between
machines. In some of the lists I'm on, and on some of the lists I host,
when I reply to posts various symbols don't appear correctly. It
sometimes happens on non-list email as well.
Sorry I don't have more definitive information; perhaps I've given you
some ideas as to what to search for.
