[cobalt-developers] root passwords etc.

I have some php utilities that I've installed under one virtual site.  Here
is a snip of a couple of files:
-rwxr-xr-x   1 root     site2        6497 Jan  4 23:17 stats_customers.php
-rwxr-xr-x   1 root     site2       18748 Jan  4 23:17 specials.php

I don't recall installing these as root.  I don't actually ever recall
logging in as root.  How did these get root ownership.  I don't recall what
the root password is either man I'm in bad shape.  How can I recover the
root password ?  It that possible ?
