[cobalt-developers] Re: RaQXTR-All-Kernel-1.0.1-2.2.16C33_V-1

Hi Josh,
a few hours ago i got an inofficial list from Wouter from Cobalt support
in Netherlands. He tried to remove this kernel patch on his machine
and gave me these orders. It helped me to get two of my three crashed
RaQ XTR back online again, but the modules.config seems to be incorrect.
It also rebuilds the RAID after every clean reboot.
However, i got them back online with this and i am going to flatten
the software on all three XTRs this weekend. So proceed at your own risk and backup the /boot-directory first:
1.) telnet into the XTR and login as admin
2.) su to root, when asked for a password, give the admin one
3.) cd /boot
4.) rm System.map
5.) ln -s System.map.pkgsave System.map
6.) rm vmlinux.gz
7.) rm vmlinux.bz2
8.) cp vmlinux.pkgsave vmlinux.2.2.gz
9.) gunzip vmlinux.2.2.gz
10.) bzip2 vmlinux.2.2
11.) cp vmlinux.pkgsave vmlinux.2.2.gz
So once again: proceed at your own risk, but it helped me to get the
machines back online again. However: THANKS A LOT Wouter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (hope you read this)
Yours
Jan*

I just put a note out on Cobalt-users but I installed the kernel
update through BlueLinQ on my RaQ XTR and it has crashed at about 3am
and just 30 minutes ago. (12;30pm) which is not a good sign.
